Overview

The Augtera agent can be used for:

• End-to-end infrastructure performance synthetic testing by generating probes to other Augtera agents to measure loss and latency across multi-cloud infrastructure. All of Augtera platform's capabilities including Machine Learning can then be applied on this data.

• Application performance synthetic testing by generating probes to SaaS or other URLs to measure loss, latency and connection success or failures. All of Augtera platform's capabilities including Machine Learning can then be applied on this data.

• Host metrics such as CPU, memory utilization and disk including per process metrics. On SONiC switches per process metrics provide visibility into processes inside docker containers. All of Augtera platform's capabilities including Machine Learning can then be applied on this data.

Augtera's brand name of synthetic testing performed by Augtera agents is "Netsonar" and you will see that reference throughout this guide.

Configuration of the agents can be done via the Augtera UI or via JSON enabling automation.
